Feeling Crafty... Oh so Crafty!

So I have a new obsession... and others can benefit from it!!
I've always wanted to make quilts, but never took the time to try and didn't really have much confidence in myself to do so... But once Jeremiah and Heidi had they're sweet Laine I thought, perfect! I need to get her something and I know Heidi will appreciate a homemade gift! ;) So I went to WalMart (cuz that's all we have here in good 'ol Cedar City) and got some fun flannel fabric, but I wasn't about to send one as a gift without testing one out first! So I bought some choo-choo fabric for Kernan and made his first.. Which turned out SO cute! Plus it was SO fun to make!!
It also helped that Kernan kept coming in saying, "Mama, my choo choo blanket done?" then once it was "Oh my choo choo blanket done!"


So I set off to make Laine's...
Kernan came in for this one and said, "Mama, sissy's blanket?" and I said "No, it's for Laine" and he said "Oh yep, Laine!"

Glad you like it Heidi!! Just remember don't look to close.. Only my second one!! :D

Well since then everytime I go somewhere with fun fabric, I get so many ideas that run through my head! I found this cute fabric store down in St. George and bought a bunch of fabric to make more!! Including one for Maci.. You know how it is, you can't make one for one kid without making one for the other! ;)




For some reason she chose "cowgirl" material.. She says some kids in her class call her a cowgirl... Not sure why but whatever!! haha!
But seriously how many blankets do my kids need?! So I've made a few (and want to make a ton more!!) and I put them in my etsy shop!! Hopefully someone will be able to benefit from my new found obsession!!

This one is a favorite!! If you know me, you know I *love* giraffe's! I walked in to the fabric store saw this fabric and knew I "needed" it! :) So I bought extra and will use it for myself in someway, haven't figured out exactly how yet! ;)


This blanket has a square that is minky and the entire back is minky as well... SO soft!! Just makes me want to snuggle with it!


This one is super fun too!! See obsessed! I'm in love with all of them! ;)


Here is one of the benefits of living in Utah, LDS fabric!! This is so cute and fun!
They have missionary, young women, temples, scouts, etc!








So if you want one or know of someone that would want one... They make great gifts for birthday's and baby showers... But I really need to stop making them until I've sold some! So someone please buy some so I can have something to do in this little town!! haha!!
I also made some changes to my etsy shop... When I decided to sell these and a few other crafty fun things(those will be added soon!) I decided to change my etsy shop name to "handmade by jessica" that way I can put anything fun and crafty that I make in there!!

Also, my Mom said that I should show people a picture of my watches on, maybe you'd get a better vision of what they look like besides just laying on my desk! haha!
So here I am modeling and photographing (so not the best pic) but hopefully that gives you an even better idea of how dang cute these watches are!! They seriously are everywhere up here!!

A little boy lives in our house....

I walked out of my room to go to the family room and this is what I saw...



Then in the middle of the family room...

I love underwear bums!! (it's been hard for me not to call them panties.. haha) Of course his favorite pair... Wall E!



His imagination is growing everyday! I was cleaning the kitchen when I heard him making airplane sounds...
I looked out and he had made an airplane out of his legos (or gogos as he says).
Their minds are amazing as they learn and grow!!
And these pictures aren't the best, but I just love them!!





He is such a joy in our home! Our lives would be so boring without him in it!! He is so funny! One of his latest (and he has a lot!) is singing... LA LA LA LA LA... Last Sunday in church he sang along to all the hymns in sacrament meeting! He had a few people around us busting up! Including us! :)
Here is a short video I taped of him last Tuesday night with my phone... We had just bought High School Musical 3, of course! And he decided to sing along with Troy.. Sorry it's dark we were having a "movie theater" experience!

I love my boy!! :) And a Mama's boy he is!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Umm... Guys....

This is what we heard from Maci as she walked out of her room last night. We looked up at her and Brian said, "Did you loose your tooth?!" and she said "Yep".



This is a big milestone in her life, it's her first one! She didn't even get her teeth until she was 18 months old, so we knew it would be awhile before she lost her first one!! We were so surprised, none of us even knew it was loose, not even Maci!! We asked her if it was loose and she said no, I was just biting the sleeve of my shirt to pull it up because I was cold and it fell out! She didn't cry or anything! She just took the water we got her to get the blood out and that was that!! Now this was @ 9:15 last night! And the night before she didn't go to bed before 11! So she really wasn't all that excited! She did put it under her pillow though so the tooth fairy would come visit her!
And with a lot of begging on my part... She obliged and let me take this picture! And probably not more then 10 minutes later was sound asleep! She was SO tired!!



She woke up this morning a lot more excited about it! She came in our room at 7:30 to show us that indeed the tooth fairy did come and left her a BIG quarter!

Here she is before church, she was letting me take more pictures! Thank heavens!! We told the tooth fairy we didn't want her to take the tooth since Mom didn't get any pictures! So she kindly left it for us! ;)


Her is her loot, and her "big" quarter! When I told her that it was actually a dollar she was so happy!! What an awesome tooth fairy, she left her $2! Maci wants to take the "big" one to school and share it!


And this picture she wanted me to get her sticking her tongue threw the hole... I don't think she's stopped playing with it! lol! We've checked her other teeth and none of other ones are loose...


On a sidenote: This is what we came back out to in the front room after we had convinced her to let me take her picture and then said prayers and tucked her in...
A sleepy boy who couldn't even eat his entire poptart! Isn't that adorable?!

Snow, snow, snow...

Last Monday we got another good snow storm! It started coming down Sunday evening and didn't stop until Monday evening... Just in time for us to go sledding for Family Home Evening! Santa brought us the right gear for such an occasion! Well except Daddy.. everything Santa brought him was the wrong size! opps... :)

Here is a picture to show you just how much snow we got!! It went up to Kernan's booty! He couldn't even walk, so he just played with the snow right there! He doesn't look to upset about that though does he?! :)


Maci is getting a good push from her Dad! The one spot we went down had a pretty good jump towards the end! I think each of the kids did a face plant at least once!


Walking back up.. The snow was so deep it was a long walk!


Ethan...


He built his own track... It turned out pretty good!

Brian and Maci had a race! I think Maci won!


And this is what Kernan did the entire time... Him and I went down once but I had to carry him all the way back up because it was so deep he couldn't walk.. So we only went one time! ;)


On Wednesday after Maci got out of school the kids and I played in the snow in the front yard for awhile... It's amazing how fast it melts when the sun is out!!


Santa also brought us these cool snowball makers! They work really well!


Look at that beautiful snowball!

I made a nice tower out of snowballs! :)


Here is our snowman.. He wasn't very big but he is so cool! I put a cool Pepsi logo on his front... And Maci added the mohawk on his head! Coolest snowman around!


Then Kernan found the run off of snow from the roof and decided to get a drink! He ended up getting so wet! But he wasn't bothered by it at all!


I told him it was time to go in and he stood up and said "Bye Bye Mom"!


We're supposed to be getting snow again this weekend! Oh boy! ;)

I'm so bummed about the Cardinals! They got some pretty crappy calls! But you know what they made it that far and gave them a run for their money, so really they did AWESOME!! And there is always next year!

Good Luck Cardinals!!

So I've only been a Cardinals "fan" for about 3 weeks!! :D I've never really followed any professional football team but when your home team starts to do awesome, you need to represent right?! This year watching the Super Bowl is going to be a little harder! Before I always took potty breaks during the game... I mean, come on, everyone knows the Super Bowl is always about the commercials!! :) But when am I going to get to go to the bathroom tonight? For once I am just as interested in the game as I am the commercials!! haha!
We've come down to Hurricane to watch the game with our fellow Arizonan's, my Grandparents! We're going to have good food, and cheer the Cardinal's onto victory!!
