That's right!! We've been diaper FREE for 5 days now!! It is seriously still a shock to us!
He hasn't been interested in the potty what-so-ever!! But last Sunday he came up to me and told me he was stinky, so I went to change him and he wasn't... So I asked him if he wanted to go on the potty, and instead of saying "NO" which is his normal answer, he said OK! So we went and set him on the potty, and after a few minutes I heard a "plop" and he looked at me and said "I did it!" I was seriously in shock!! So we pursued it threw the week, he'd do so good going poo, but we'd sit him on the potty for awhile he wouldn't go so I'd put him down and put undies on him and he'd pee within 2-3 minutes! I was getting so flustered! So on Thursday I decided I was going to go "cold turkey" no more diapers! I went and bought him a little potty seat to set out in front of the TV, I know it's bad but the kid loves his cartoons! But again, he'd pee in his underwear, so I just let him go naked!! Well, he did awesome!! We haven't had a pee accident since!! We've been giving him stickers for every time he goes, as of Thursday morning he had 2 stickers... By the end of the day on Thursday he had 18!! We even went out to pick up Maci from school and run to the craft store and he didn't have an accident!! :D
Now, I have the theory that if you go from diapers to underwear and back it gives them mixed signals, that's why we went to underwear and nothing else, not even pull-ups. Sorry to those that use pull-ups I just feel that they are diapers that are harder to clean up when they go in them and more expensive, so what's the point of getting out of diapers?! Just my theory.. So even at night he's been in underwear. Thank heavens for the plastic sheet!! :) He had accidents every night but last night!! He woke up DRY! So less then a week since I've completely dedicated us to this he's completely potty trained!!
We use books for those poop's that just don't come fast enough... ;)
I called my Mom yesterday to tell her that I can "officially" say my son is potty trained...
I was in the kids room yesterday morning picking up and all the sudden I heard the toilet flush. It was only Kernan and I home at the time, so I went in and he had the "bucket" part of his little potty in his hands and he had flushed the pee down the potty all on his own... No need for help from me!! He is also over the "celebration" after he goes each time! At first he'd go and we'd high five, give rock, go flush the pee gone and get a sticker.... He doesn't even care about a sticker anymore! Yep, he's potty trained!!
Here are his stickers as of this afternoon... He had so many we had to get a second paper!!
He is getting so big so fast!! Proof is in this picture, not the best expression on his face but doesn't he just look 10 years old?! :(
I'm so glad we don't have to spend the money on diapers anymore!! Oh Happy Day!!
He's such a big boy!!

Thats awesome! Way to go Kernan!
Not spending money on diapers is great. Good Job Kernan!! I thought he would be 4 before he stopped saying "no" to it. Now, the thought of poopy diapers from T makes me sick, I'm sure you understand. They are man poops now.
Way to go Kernan. Watch the mail, I have a Big Boy Box coming. Poppy is so proud of you...I think he especially like the picture of you reading, I'm sure that's you're Poppy in you. Good jo Kernan...
