First a quick story about Kernan and his LOVE for trains... Saturday after Christmas my brother Stockton got out his geotrax train for Kernan to play with... He set it up for him at about 9:30am and Kernan did not leave the front room until 1pm!! And only because he was hungry! He had to eat lunch in by the choo choo... At 1:30 I put him down for a nap, he had to take the train with him!! He woke up and went right back to it! He seriously only left that room maybe 5 times all day!! It was so cute, but being the bad Mom I am (hehe) I didn't take one picture the entire time of him playing with it!! I'm so sad about that! Another funny story... We ran errands all day Monday and when we finally got back home and pulled into my parents driveway, Kernan goes "choo choo yes"!! It was the cutest thing. He also went up Tuesday morning and woke Stockton up so that he could come help him set up the track again... Stockton came down and sat on the couch and Kernan went and pulled him up (or tried) and told him "no couch"! LOL!! This boy LOVES trains!! It's totally the thing to love at his age!
Last weekend we got to go ride a train!! Brian's Dad has a customer that comes into his hardware store that works out at a train depot place just west of Waterworld at 49th Ave and Pinnacle Peak. He told Paul that if we all wanted to come out he'd give us a personal tour and free ride!! Well with the LOVE his little Grandson's (as well as himself) have for Trains... We couldn't pass it up! I'm so glad we were in town!!
Here is Kernan standing by our engine... Getting ready to board!!
Poppy and his boys...
Maci is ready!!
ALL ABOARD!!
The place was really cool!! It had a bunch of stuff around each track that made it feel more "real"... The place is basically a guy's love of trains taken to a new level!!! They took their love and made it to a scale for people to enjoy!!
Trevor enjoyed it!!
As did Kernan!!
We rode around once and then went back to the station to pick up Brian's Aunt Nancy, Uncle Mark and family... When we pulled into the station the recording was going over the "rules" for the other people in the next train leaving... We listened, we basically broke every rule they said! I guess that's the plus of being a guest of someone who works there!! hehe!
On our second trip (there are 5 different tracks, 180 acres of land!) we stopped at the train museum they have there... They have a house all set up with 5 different trains going... Kernan was in heaven!! He didn't want to leave it! Not even to get back on the big train and ride! He kept saying "no bye-bye!! I want choo choo!"
Here are the boys looking at the underground train... I love this!
We got him back on (crying but on) and rode again...
Here are some of the passengers.. Look at Christtina's cute prego belly!! Oh and can you see Kernan waving to me? So cute!!
Maci at the video camera... You don't want to watch what she recorded... It could make you sick!! :)
We had such a fun time at the train station... Kernan totally cried when we put him in the car to go home... He did not want to leave!! Lisa bought the boys a shirt that says "I rode the train" he slept in it and didn't want to change it the next morning!! He's so funny!!
Hope you're beginning of 2009 has been good... We drove home yesterday, so we're back in snow land... Thankfully a lot of it has melted! :) I'm headed back down to AZ on Wednesday for a Photography conference. It's a good thing I like to travel and my kids are good in the car, huh?!? ;)
Happy 2009!!

We've cleaned up the train, and put it back in the box, but I just can't bring myself to take it back up to Stockton's room. Maybe I won't... See you on Wednesday little engineer!!
I totally love the black and white shot of the two boys watching the underground train. We sure had fun watching them in all of their excitement!
I wouldn't have missed it for anything. It was worth everything to watch the boys shine. Paul too!!!
Love Ya, Mom (Nonna)
I thought I replied to this one already... sorry! Kernan is so cute!! He is looking very handsome. It looks like such a great time!
