Yep, Tooele, UT.... Do you know where that is?! Neither did we until we drove out there!! Do you know how to pronounce it?! Tooele (toe*will*a), I know... Weird huh?!
So why were we driving out to a city we didn't know where exactly it was and we couldn't spell right?! Rowe and Dixie! That's why!!
A little background... My family went on a Mexican cruise over spring break and while on the cruise met the nicest couple (or so we were told)... They told us all about them, and how wonderful they were and how Rowe collects hats, he had a different one on everyday and they went on and on! They even wrote back and forth a couple times after the cruise!
So since we were in Salt Lake City, they wanted to go out to their house and see them... So we (well my parents car, we just followed everywhere) got on OnStar and it began leading us to Tooele, UT! Brian and I thought, if these people are boring and we want to leave to go swimming before the pool closes at our hotel, then we'll just leave... Oh. my. goodness. So not the case!! This couple is so fun and cute!! Rowe has the best stories about every little nick-nack in his "man cave", as Dixie calls it! :) And he collects hats like no one I've ever seen! He even told us that he had boxed a lot of them up!! Holy Cow!! They are honestly just awesome!!
Rowe is the chief of the volunteer fire department in Tooele so he wanted to take the kids on a ride! They were all so excited!!
Before we went for our ride, Rowe took us into the office and gave the kids everything they give out to kids for free! They were in fire truck heaven!! :)
Here's Rowe... Our driver!
Jaxin...
Stockton...
Maci...
Kernan and I...
Michayla and Maci...
Rowe with the kids after our ride! He took us around Tooele for like a 30 min ride!! It was awesome! I've been inside fire trucks, but I never in my life thought I'd get to ride in one!! It was so neat!
The family...
And us with Rowe and Dixie... (Michayla took the picture for us)
This is Kernan with the "Rowe Bell". Yes it's named after Rowe! He also HAD to bring his blankey on the fire truck, he had this hole conversation with us on the way there, basically to convince us that it was a need for blankey to go! It was pretty cute!! He is the true definition of a "blankey boy"!!
The kids were enjoying looking all over the truck at all the different buttons and switches...
He was in another "Mom, take my picture" mood! It must have been the fire truck! But I was eating it up! :)
Dixie and Rowe's son stopped by while we were there. Michayla mentioned that she had never ridden on a bike so he took her for her first ride!
Off they went!
I love these last two pictures! I've always been thankful for fire fighters but the volunteer fire fighters are a hole other thing! I mean they don't get paid to rush into burning buildings and stuff! They just do it! That's so amazing to me!!
Thank you Fire Fighters!!
After we left the fire station we went to dinner... Then we said our good-byes and went back into town... We got in the car and Brian, Michayla, and I were just as much in love with this couple as my family had been after the cruise!! They are just so fun! We were glad we went!!
Oh and to answer the question about where Tooele is, like Rowe said to us as we were leaving... It's 300 miles from Salt Lake to get to Tooele but only 30 to get back! haha! It's so true! It's only 30 miles west of Salt Lake but on our way out there it felt so far and on the way back it went fast!! We can't wait to go back though! When there isn't snow of course!! :) hehe!

That's so neat, T would have flipped out. U would think with a firefighter across the street, he'd have a ride by now. The last two pix and the one with Kernan and his blanket rock!! The blanket cracks me up. Do you think the firetruck is suffice, no!
Awesome pictures. I really like the last to pictures turned out. I love the coloring!
The last two pictures are my favorites. So....where does he park that fire truck, is the fire station by his house, or just in town somewhere?
I love the last two pictures. Looks like a lot of fun!
